The following year he returned to Farnham for an armistice anniversary service and parade. Then, he appeared informally one evening at the headquarters, having seen the lights as he was on his way home to Bentley, and was hoping for a chat with the Scouts.

The Troop repaid the visit by traveling to Pax Hill on several occasions, the Rover section meeting him whilst camping in the grounds in 1924. He kept in touch with later developments at Daniel Hall.

B-P's connection with Farnham does not end there. In 1928, he was presented with a Rolls_Royce motor car funded by a penny subscription among scouts Worldwide.

The car, known inevitably as 'Jam Roll' is shown above. It's chassis was supplied by Swain and Jones Ltd of Farnham, with coachwork from Page and Hart of Wrecelesham
